Dr. Bertha Loveland Selmon was born in Columbus Grove, Putnam County, Ohio, Dec. 15, 1877, the daughter of Nicholas Eugene and Annie Parker Loveland. She graduated from Dr. John Harvey Kellogg's Sanitarium and Battle Creek College in 1898. She continued her study at the American Medical Missionary College in Chicago, graduating with a degree in medicine in 1902. On July 6, 1903 she was married to Dr. Arthur Selmon and the couple immediately moved to China where they worked as medical missionarie...
